George Balabushka GB6 American Pool Cue
Classic George Balabushka cue with a brown-stained birdseye maple forearm with an eight point African ebony splice, complementary veneers, four ivorine diamond inlays and a solid ebony butt sleeve. It has a white with blackspeck Irish linen wrap, a 13mm Pro taper, phenolic collar with silver ring and a 5/16 x 14 joint fitting. It has a standard weight of 19oz. The joint provides maximum contact between the butt and shaft, which increases cue-ball control and minimizes vibration. Combined with the 13mm Pro Layered tip, this cue provides extra confidence and feel when playing every screw shot. It is nicely finished with the George Balabushka signature on the forearm.
George Balabushka was arguably the greatest cuemaker of his generation. Throughout the 60s and 70s, he had garnered a reputation for making cues with incredible playability. Demand for his cues from top players was explosive, and his cues have even been featured on the big screen, including The Color of Money from 1986. The cues all have distinguishing features, including a low deflection shaft and mother-of-pearl inlays. The majority of Balabushka cues use steel joints with a 5/16 x 14 fitting to firmly join the butt to the shaft.
