Draw for the World Snooker Championship Qualifying Tournament

Snooker Balls

As I mentioned in my earlier article. The draw for the qualifying rounds of the 2018 Betfred.com World Snooker Championships were made this morning.

There are some very interesting matches that have been thrown up in the first round.

Stephen Maguire plays Allan Taylor. Jimmy White plays Sam Craigie. Reanne Evans the 11-time World Ladies Champion plays Dominic Dale. The recently crowned World Ladies Champion Ng On Yee will play Matthew Selt.

One of the matches for though is the battle of two very good young players Yan Bingtao of China will play Jackson Page of Wales. Two very exciting young prospects doing battle in round one.

Other matches of note include a 'blast from the past' as Peter Ebdon takes on James Wattana and Brazil's recently crowned WSF World Seniors Champion, Igor Figueiredo will play Ryan Day.

Day should probably count himself a bit unlucky to not make the seeded top 16 as he has already won two world ranking events this season, but they were not enough to propel him into that elusive elite 16.
