2016 Eurotour Kicks off in Treviso
The 2016 Eurotour kicks off in Italy today with a strong field of 185 players from across Europe and also a few coming from further afield for this event.
Britain's Mark Gray, currently ranked 3rd, will be one of the favourites to lift the trophy in Treviso. Seeded through to the 1st winners round in Group E he faces Mark Magi of Estonia later today.
It is one of the most impressive Eurotour fields for some time and players keen on gaining a Mosconi Cup spot know that these events carry all important points towards that target.
This see's the likes of Karl Boyes, Daryl Peach and Imran Majid travel from England. Jayson Shaw is also in action, now based in the USA, the Scot will have travelled the furthest of all the players involved in the event.
There are also Mosconi Cup regulars in Niels Feijen, Nick van den Berg and European captain Marcus Chamat also involved in Italy.
First prize is 3500 Euro with the runner up receiving 2500.
Play continues in the double elimination stages through until Saturday when the last 32 straight KO rounds will commence.

Kuwait Open 9 Ball Announced
In other 9-ball news the WPA have announced that there will be a brand new ranking event for 128 players this year. The Kuwait 9-Ball Open will carry a purse of $275,000 and is likely to be played either before or after the World 9-Ball Championships in Qatar to soften the travel cost for the International players.
The event would mean 15 events this season would qualify for World ranking status which is a real step in the right direction.
