Higgins and Stevens Bow Out at Sangsom 6-Red World Championships
Two of snookers biggest stars and also two of the biggest names competing in the SangSom World 6-Red Championships in Thailand have bowed out in the round robin stage.
With six players in each group and the top four then making it through to the last 32 knockout stages it looked likely that both the four-times former World Champion John Higgins and the former World Masters Champion, Matthew Stevens, would do enough to qualify.
It wasn't to be and both players finished 5th in their respective groups. Higgins finished behind two amateur players, Muhammad Sajjad and Boonyarit Kaettikun, and only recorded one win out of his five matches.
Stevens actually manmaged a little better by winning two of his match but finished behind home favourite James Wattana on frame difference.
All of the remaining group stage matches will be completed today and the draw for the kockout stages will then be completed.
