For those of you not in the know, and I am sure most of you are, the Derby City Classic (DCC) is one of the most eagerly anticipated and heavily subscribed tournaments in the US calendar.
What makes this event different? Quite simply the format. The DCC has three main tournaments, all with a different discipline. 9-ball, One Pocket and 9-ball Banks are played and the One Pocket and Bank Pool divisions are probably the largest fields assembled for their respective disciplines, in the world!
The DCC is a gamblers paradise and a myriad of International stars join many road players, hustlers and talented amateurs to try and take home the cash, not only from the tournaments but also from the action after hours. The DCC has a dedicated action room where $1000's exchange hands after the main tournaments have finished.
Something else that sets the DCC apart from the other Open tournaments is the Master of the Table bonus. This $20,000 prize is awarded to the player that achives the highest aggregate finish across all three disciplines. Efren Reyes has owned this prize over the past few years and it will take someone very exceptional to stop him.
With over 300 players competing in each discipline the action is going to be hot!
